Halo: Combat Evolved (on Xbox) Review.

Here I will tell you about the greatist game ever made, and why the game is just so good.

Halo is my favourite game as it has so many brilliant features.
First of all, as the story goes the covenant have begun to destroy The Pillar of Autumn, when they break on board the ship. The ship Must be evacuated and you must take a lifeboat to Halo as you are like humanitys last hope.
The covenant now must protect their ring world Halo.
There are 7 enemy types in total, and each are brilliantly detailed and textured (just try loking at any enemy, a jackal for example, upclose, trough a sniper scope).
The actual environments are amazing and very large. They are very detailed and really give the immpression of a strange, foreign, alien environment.
The sound is amazing (especially when it is heard with dolby digital 5.1). They even got all the death cries of the covenant to sound just right.
The controls are perfect, and suprisingly this new FPS control style really suits the xbox control, as anyone who has played the game will tell you. Ther is even a melee attack (press B), which is very usefull for finishing off grunts and for breaking a jackal's shield. There are two types of grenade, Human (fragmentation), or frag for short and the covenant (plasma) grenade. The Fragmentation grenade is just like a normal military grenade, which sets off after 3 seconds of throwing. The plasma grenade however (my personal favourite of the two) is slightly different however, as it will only set off after it has settled on a flat surface or if it has stuck to any lifeform. It can be very entertaining to watch a grunt run around screaming after you stick the plasma grenade to it (don't stand too close though).
The vehicle selection is very balanced in the types of vehicles that you can have. There is the Warthog (a jeep-like vehicle with brilliant handling, a driver seat, a passenger seat and a minigun on the back!
Then there is the Scorpion (a massive tank with one driver seat, but there's room for 4 people to sit on the side of the tank, you can even fire the mounted machine gun at the same time that you fire the deadly rocket launcher).
The Ghost (a small covenant hovercraft with mounted plasma cannons, this vehicle is quite fast, but the plasma cannons are innacurate).
The Banshee is the only flying vehicle that you can pilot during the game. But this vehicle is very powerful as it has both, plasma cannons and plasma rockets mounted. This makes this the fastest and probably the most powerful vehicle in Halo.
OVERALL:
Halo is the best game that I have ever played, it's just so fun to pick up and play anytime. The multiplayer will add unlimited length to this game as there are just so many options that you can choose from.
Sadly I cannot rate this game over 100% so I will have to stick with that rating.
Halo gets the highest rating possible:
100%
